Will Power after winning the 2025 Bitnile Grand Prix of Portland

Team Penske has released a statement stating that Will Power will not be returning to the #12 Team Penske Chevy for the 2026 NTT IndyCar season.

Will had this to say regarding his time in the team, “It’s been the honor of my life to driver for Roger and the Penske organization {…} After much consideration, I felt like a change for me was the right move at this time.”

This was the news that the driver market was waiting on and now that it has been released, the driver market will be in full swing.

But, where will Power be heading in the 2026 season. The leading rumor is that he will be replacing Colton Herta in the #26 Gainbridge Andretti Global car. The validity of this rumor hinges on an announcement from Andretti regarding whether or not Colton will be headed to F2.

Opinions vary on if Colton moving to Formula 2 is a good move, but one thing is for sure: The 2026 driver market now hinges on this rumor coming true or being tossed aside by Andretti.
